Elbert County Needs You for a Complete Count in 2020
Volunteer for Elbert County’s Complete Count Committee
Every decade since 1790, the U.S. Census Bureau has conducted a constitutionally-required census to determine the number of people living within the United States and its territories. The data collected in the census is used by our nation’s leaders to help make vital decisions on how congressional districts are drawn and how federal tax dollars are distributed to local governments. Elbert County Commissioners have created a Complete Count Committee to get local leaders involved in making sure every Elbert County resident is counted, and we need your help!
What is required of someone on the Complete Count Committee?
The volunteer members of the Complete Count Committee will meet every month or so between summer 2019 and Census Day on April 1, 2020 to advise the Census Bureau on how best to reach everyone and make sure they participate. If you’re interested in volunteering your time, take a look at the County’s website under Volunteer Opportunities, and fill out an application.
The Census Bureau will have field jobs available in Elbert County over the next year or so to help with the Census. Some of them are work-from-home positions, full-time and part-time, paying up to $16/hour. If you’re interested, take a look at the Census Bureau’s website at www.census.gov.
