2020 Census is Hiring!

The U.S. Census Office is hiring now for Census taker positions that pay $20.50 per hour. To apply, go to 2020census.gov.

Census Day is Coming Up
Residents of Elbert County will get an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census by April 1, 2020. Your invitation will come to you in one of several ways: in the U.S. mail to your home, or from a census taker who visits your residence. The best way to avoid a follow-up visit from a Census taker is to fill out the questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail as soon as you get it.

You can verify the identity of Census takers who visit your home by checking their badge - it will have a photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date. You can also contact the Regional Census Center at 972-510-1800.

Here are the questions the Census will ask:
• How many people are living or staying at your home on April 1, 2020?
• Is the home owned or rented?
• What is the sex of each person in your home?
• What is the age of each person in your home?
• What is the race of each person in your home?
• Is a person in your home of Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish origin?
• What is the relationship of each person in your home to the others?

The Census will NEVER ask you for your social security number, money or donations, anything on behalf of a political party, or your bank or credit card information.
