Never Go Without a New Book Again
Eight Little Free Library locations throughout Elbert County
In 2014, the Pines & Plains Libraries Foundation, in partnership with Friends of the (Elbert, Elizabeth, Kiowa & Simla) Library purchased four Little Free Libraries (LFLs) to place around the county. The original library locations in the County can be found in Agate, Evans Park, Matheson and Sun Country.
Then, in March 2018, the Friends of the Elizabeth Library purchased four additional Little Free Libraries and installed them at Elizabeth High School, Running Creek Elementary, Singing Hills Elementary and Spring Valley.
If you’ve never encountered, or utilized an LFL before, you may be wondering how they work. Anyone is welcome to visit and take available books that interest them, for free. Visitors that have extra books can put them in the LFL to replace those that are taken. If you notice that the LFLs need replenishing or repair, contact the Pines & Plains Libraries District office at 303-646-3792 x103.
There are over 100,000 little libraries worldwide and LFLs are part of the world’s largest book-sharing movement. So, the next time you’re out for a walk or running errands, add an Elbert County LFL stop to your route and pick up a new book to enjoy.
