The 4-H season kicks off each year in October, and Colorado issued an official proclamation recognizing National 4-H Week October 3-9, 2021. On Wednesday, October 13, several Elbert County 4-H members gave a presentation to the Elbert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), sharing the diverse experiences of junior to senior age members.
Martial Obrecht, Mercy Obrecht, Dominic Richey, and Josie Thomas shared their gratitude to the Commissioners for the County’s continued support of 4-H and the Colorado State University Extension.
The culture of Elbert County 4-H highly values building relationships with all 4-H families and partnerships, including the BOCC, Extension professionals and Elbert County volunteers (fair board, market sale committee, advisory committee, 4-H leaders and more!) As a result of these partnerships, 4-H youth learn leadership, citizenship, life skills and more.
