Traffic Tickets

If you received a traffic ticket and the "Penalty Assessment" box is checked, the assessment must be paid no later than 20 days from the date the ticket was issued by the Elbert County Sheriff's Office.

You can pay the assessment at the Sheriff's Office Model Traffic Code (MTC) Office. The MTC Office is open from 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday (closed holidays).

The MTC Office accepts cash, personal checks, or money orders as payment. You may also pay online by clicking Pay Now.

Summons

If your payment has not been received by the MTC Office within 20 days, the ticket becomes a summons, which requires you to appear in court on date and time indicated on the front of the original traffic ticket.

If you received a traffic ticket with the "Summons" box has been checked, you must appear in court on the date and time listed above that box.

In either case, if you need to change/reschedule your court date, contact Elbert County Courts at 303-621-2131.
